Details

Emerging Artists. Rising Stars. The future of classical music.

It is not every day that an emerging talent of this magnitude comes to the attention of Melbourne audiences. The International Piano Competition Rex Hobcroft People’s Choice Award winner, 2023, Korkmaz Can Sağlam blew audiences away with his dynamic recitals.

Korkmaz Can has already appeared on concert stages in New York, Cleveland, Sydney, Salzburg, Brussels, Nice and Ankara in his native Türkiye. After studying with Antonio Pompa-Baldi and Sergei Babayan at the Cleveland Institute of Music, he received his Bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School.

In addition to his recital appearances, Korkmaz Can has made his first studio album, to be released in 2024, and is simultaneously pursuing graduate studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the direction of Sergei Babayan.

This electrifying young musician is a must-see, as he performs music by Bach, Shostakovich, Chopin and Liszt in January in Melbourne.
