Artistic Director/pianist Kathryn Selby Is joined by Australia’s illustrious Goldner String Quartet, in their farewell season, in a program rich with meaning – extraordinary works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich make for a stunning program of favourites performed by world-renowned artists and friends. Beginning with a rarely played early Mozart Piano Concerto in the composer’s own arrangement for piano and string quartet followed by Tchaikovsky’s great String Quartet No.1 in D, the concert concludes with one of the greatest of all piano quintets by Shostakovich.
