Details

One of the greatest voices of his generation tours Australia solo for the first time in a decade.

New Zealand’s Marlon Williams possesses one of the greatest voices of his generation. His effortlessly distinctive tone and heartstring-plucking vibrato have garnered widespread love around the world.

Williams draws on folk and country traditions – often compared to Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison and Elvis – but what makes Williams so special is his unique ability to traverse genres on both his award-winning records, and in his famously captivating live shows.

This has led Williams around the world in recent years, appearing on Conan, Jools Holland, a film role in A Star Is Born, tours with Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles and Florence + The Machine, and duets with Lorde, Courtney Barnett, and Brandi Carlile.

An Evening With Marlon Williams is Williams’ first Australian solo tour in nearly 10 years, and it captures his most loved songs, new material, and both original and traditional Māori Waiata.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a once-in-a-generation talent and his transcendent voice live and intimate in one of the world’s greatest music venues specially designed for remarkable artistry like Marlon Williams’ to soar.

Reviews

‘With actorly affect and an Orbinsonesque croon, the New Zealand singer-songwriter uses the bright, artificial gloss of 1980s pop to evoke an uncanny, self-protective brand of masculinity… Williams’ musical intuition is hard to beat.’ – Pitchfork

‘It’s impossible to anticipate his next move, which is riveting from a fan’s perspective. But one thing’s for certain, Williams never disappoints.’ – Beat Magazine

‘Marlon Williams is a fantastic vocal technician, but he’s also able to truly embody a song, living each word, and each note.’ – Clash Music
