Share the Music

Details

Nurture engaging, enriching, transformative music experiences for all Victorians, regardless of location, background or socio-economic status.

“Melbourne Recital Centre is a privilege to visit as it is amazing in itself, just to look around inside… The sound was something that you could listen to for days and not get tired of it. I did not even have to try to listen; I got absorbed in it straight away”. 11-year-old student from Tatura Primary School

Since Share the Music was established in 2010, donors have enabled us to share top quality performances with over 4500 children and adults, enriching their lives with live music heard in the Centre’s inspiring spaces.

Recently, schools from Tatura and Westall have benefitted from the program, along with organisations like the Brotherhood of St Lawrence and Insight Education. With your support we continue to extend our work with these organisations, and many others like them, offering opportunities to explore wonderful sounds in our unique performance spaces.

Thank you for your support of our End of Financial Year Campaign!

With help from over 2,500 generous donors, over $90,000 was raised to June 30 2017 to support ticket and transport costs for a further 2,000 individuals from multiple community organisations. This well exceeded our fundraising target and will ensure that the Centre can do even more to facilitate valuable musical experiences for those that need it most.

Donations to Share the Music bring quality music to people from all walks of life who encounter barriers in attending live music; your personal support allows them to join our community of music lovers.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. If you would prefer to donate by mail, you can use the downloadable form on this page.
